Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair
Brake Booster, Removing and Installing
Brake booster, removing and installing
Removing

Release brake booster vacuum by operating the brake pedal several times.
^
Remove brake master cylinder.
^
Pull vacuum hose off brake booster unit.
^
Disconnect electrical connector from brake booster if part of original equipment.
^
Remove storage compartment on driver's side.
^
Remove bolts -1-.
^
Remove cover -A-.
^
Separate brake pedal from brake booster.
^
Remove nuts (arrows).
^
Remove brake booster.
Installing
Install in reverse sequence; note the following points:
^
Mount brake pedal on brake booster.
^
Install brake master cylinder.
^
Bleed brake system:
^
Bleed hydraulic system for clutch:
^
Initiate basic settings for brake pressure senders.
^
Perform ESP road test on vehicles with ABS/ESP Mark 60 system.
Tightening torque
