Brake Master Cylinder: Service and Repair
Brake Master Cylinder, Removing and Installing
Special tools and workshop equipment required

3094 Hose clamps
Removing
^
Lay out sufficient lint free clothes in area of plenum chamber, engine and transmission.
^
Draw off as much brake fluid as possible from brake fluid reservoir using a suction bottle.
WARNING: Brake fluid is poisonous and must under no circumstances be sucked via a hose with the mouth.

Clamp clutch master cylinder supply hose with special tool 3094.
^
Pull off clutch master cylinder supply hose.
^
Pull connector off fluid level sender.
^
Disconnect brake lines on brake master cylinder and seal brake lines with plugs from repair kit 1 HO 698 311 A.
^
Unscrew brake master cylinder nuts.
^
Carefully take brake master cylinder out of brake servo unit.
Installing
Observe the following points when installing:

When fitting together the brake master cylinder and brake servo unit, ensure that the push rod is correctly located in the brake master cylinder.

After installing, bleed the brake system, Refer to Brake Bleeding, Service and Repair.
