Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair
Brake Booster, Removing and Installing
Special tools and workshop equipment required

3094 Hose clamps
Removing
^
Note or request radio code on vehicles with coded radio if necessary.
^
Disconnect battery.
^
Clamp clutch master cylinder supply hose with special tool 3094.
^
Pull off clutch master cylinder supply hose.
^
Remove control unit and hydraulic unit, Refer to Hydraulic Control Assembly, Service and Repair.
^
Disconnect vacuum hose from brake servo.
^
Remove trim below dash panel.
^
Remove connecting plate between clutch and brake pedals on vehicles with a manual transmission.
^
Remove brake light switch - 1 - by turning it 90° counter - clockwise.
^
Separate brake pedal from brake servo, Refer to Brake Pedal Assembly, Service and Repair.
^
Guide brake servo with brake master cylinder out toward front and remove.
Installing
Install in reverse order.
^
Install brake light switch by inserting in opening and turning 90° clockwise.
^
Adjust brake light switch.
Refer to Lighting and Horns.
^
After installing, bleed the brake system, Refer to Brake Bleeding, Service and Repair.
