Wheel alignment

Notes: 
-

Wheel alignment should not be checked before the vehicle has completed 1000 to 2000 km (600 to 1200 miles so that the coil springs have had
time to settle.

When making adjustments, keep to the specified settings as accurately as possible.

-

Vibrations can also be caused by excessive residual imbalance and/or vertical wheel runout.

Wheel alignment should only be checked using VW/Audi approved wheel alignment equipment.

Wheel alignment checks must always include both the front and the rear axles. Otherwise, the proper running characteristics of the vehicle cannot
be ensured.

If the installation position of the rear axle (and therefore the direction of travel of the vehicle) is not correct, this can result in an off - center steering
wheel position.

Steering wheel and steering column are marked.
A- Line on steering wheel
B-Punch mark on steering column
This position must not be changed. Otherwise, steering rack may not be in center position.

Notes:  If the steering column or steering wheel are replaced, identification must be reproduced after adjustment and road test.

Steering columns supplied as replacement parts do not have a center punch mark.

Tightening torque: 
Multi - point socket head bolt: 55 Nm 

Wheel alignment must be checked if:
-

Vehicle is not handling properly, or has been involved in an accident.

-

Suspension components have been removed. 

-

Tires wear on one side (unevenly).
