Remove upper nut on ball joint.

-

Apply ball joint puller as shown in illustration and press out ball joint.

Notes:  To protect ball joint threads, leave nut on a few turns.

Installing 
Tightening torques:

Ball joint to control arm   75 Nm  
Use new nuts
Ball joint to wheel hearing housing    75 Nm

Secure ball joint to control arm (nuts on old marks).

Notes: Commercially available ring insertion tools (A/F 18 mm) can also be used instead of VAG 1332/10 e.g.: Stahlwille 732/10 or Hazet
