Pressing out front control arm mounting

Use VAG1290 A workshop press for pressing out.

-

Cut off external rubber collar in order to obtain flat surface for pressing.

-

Position control arm with this surface against thrust plate - VW402 -.

-

Press out mounting.

Notes: When pressing in:
-

Do not use grease!

-

Use special lubricant G 294 421 A 1 for pressing in.

-

This lubricant is acid - free, and will be absorbed by the rubber after a short time (by diffusion).

-

It leaves a slightly tacky film, which helps to keep the mounting seated properly.

-

Conventional grease or oils are usually acidic, and will /cave a lubricating film.
