Pressing in wheel bearing

Install wheel bearing - 1 - thrust piece - 2 - (fit with collar in bearing) and hollow piston cylinder- 3 - with pull rod on wheel bearing housing.

Install thrust piece - 4 - (with wide collar toward wheel bearing housing) and special nut - 5 - on inside.

-

Press wheel bearing in by operating pump.

-

Insert circlip with long nose pliers.

2 - Thrust piece E - 13 - 1
3 - Hollow piston cylinder HKZ - 15
4 - Thrust piece E -10
5 - Special nut E - 8 - 214 and pull rod

Pressing in wheel hub 

-

Install hub - 1 - and hollow piston cylinder- 2 - with pull rod on wheel bearing.

-

Install special nut - 4 - and thrust piece - 3 - (with collar toward special nut) on inside.

-

Press in hub by operating pump.

2 - Hollow piston cylinder HKZ - 15
3 - Thrust piece E - 5
4 - Special nut E - 8 - 214 and pull rod

When installing, note the following points in particular: 

Notes:  Observe Notes and go to Splines, Drive Axle/Wheel Hub

Clean splines/threads on drive axle.

-

Clean splines in hub.

-

Screw on new 1 2-point nut as far as possible.

-

Secure brake caliper to wheel bearing housing (125 Nm/92 ft. lbs.).

-

Secure coupling link to suspension strut (use new nut).

-

Lower vehicle, but ensure that the wheels do not touch the ground (otherwise the wheel bearing could be damaged).

Apply brakes (second person necessary).

-

Fully tighten 12 - point nut.
