Unscrew rear heat shield and exhaust system bracket - arrows -.

-

Unscrew EVAP canister cover rear nut - arrow -.

-

Fold cover for EVAP canister down at rear edge.

All Vehicles

-

Disconnect electrical connector - arrow -.

NOTE:  Shown in illustration on a vehicle with front wheel drive.

-

Connect multimeter to valve for resistance measurement.
-

Specification: 22 to 26 Ohms

If specified value is not obtained:

-

Replace Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid Valve 2 N115,.

-

Erase DTC memory of ECM.  See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Scan Tool Testing and Procedures/Diagnostic Mode
04 - Erase DTC Memory

Generate readiness code.  See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Monitors, Trips, Drive Cycles and Readiness
Codes/Generate Readiness Code

If the specification is obtained:

-

Connect test box to control module wiring harness,  See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General
Diagnostics/Test Box, Connecting For Wiring Test connect test box for wiring test.

-

Check wire between test box socket 116+terminal 2 of 2-pin connector for open circuit according to wiring diagram.
