Disconnect exhaust system at clamping sleeve - 1 -.

Tie up the front exhaust pipe to the floor panel.

CAUTION!
Risk of damaging decoupling elements.

‹› Do not bend decoupling elements in front exhaust pipe more than 10°.

Remove the exhaust system rear section. Refer to => 

Engine Mechanical 26 Description and Operation.

Vehicles with 6-cylinder engine:

Remove entire exhaust system. Refer to => Engine Mechanical

 26 Description and Operation.

All Vehicles

Support driveshaft with Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A) (use a wooden wedge - A -, for example for help).

-

Finally, remove heat shield - arrows -.

-

After removing heat shield, re-install center bearing -  arrows -.
