Tighten end of cutting cord at bolt to wiper arm mounting - arrow -.

Slide Cover for Dash Panel (V.A.G 1474/13) between windshield and instrument panel.

Secure beginning of cutting cord in spooling tool and cut out first area of adhesive (up to about center of windshield).

Move spooling tool as shown, and continue to cut out adhesive sealing material.
