Right Flange Shaft Seal, Replacing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Thrust piece (3377)

‹› Pulling hook (T20143)

Removing

Proceed as follows:

‹› Shaft seal can be replaced with transmission installed.

‹› Observe general repair notes => [ Repair Instructions ] See: Service and Repair/Procedures/02E Transmission/Repair Instructions.

‹› Observe cleanliness rules when working on transmissions => [ Clean Working Conditions ] See: Service Precautions/02E Transmission/Clean

Working Conditions.

Remove right flange shaft => [ Right Flange Shaft ] See: Differential/Differential Output Shaft/Service and Repair/Right Flange Shaft.

-

Remove shaft seal with pulling hook (T20143/2). 

Installing

-

Drive in new shaft seal as far as stop using thrust piece (T10049).
