Oil Pan: Service and Repair

Sump, removing and installing 

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Electric drill with plastic brush attachment

Silicone sealant D 176 404 A2

Removing 

^

Remove center noise insulation panel - arrows -. 

^

Drain engine oil.

^

Unscrew bracket - 2 - for oil return line.

^

Unscrew oil return line from oil pan.

^

Unscrew oil pan.

Notes:  Use special tool 3185 to loosen and tighten oil pan screws. Unscrew using 3249 hex ball socket.

Remove oil pan (if necessary, loosen pan by lightly tapping with rubber mallet).

^

Remove sealant remaining on cylinder block with flat scraper.
