Condition
Door/trunk will not lock or unlock using the remote transmitter.
Condition may be a discharged remote transmitter battery due to internal circuit voltage draw.
Production
New software introduced starting 42/03 (Calendar Week/Year).
Service

Separate remote transmitter -arrow- from key portion of the key Fob.

Check production date of transmitter.
If production date is 42/03 (Calendar Week/Year) or later:
-
Check battery voltage and/or synchronization.
If production date is 41/03 (Calendar Week/Year) or before.

Replace remote transmitter (Part No. 4D0 837 231 M 01C).

New transmitter comes with a new battery.

Adapt remote transmitter to Convenience System Central Control Module.
