Bolt return pipe to retainer on steering box.

Notes:  On vehicles with front - wheel drive, the distance between return pipe - 1 - and steering box - 3 - must be 10 mm.

Bolt return pipe to rotary slide valve housing with new sealing rings.

-

Check to make sure that sealing collar on steering box pinion is correctly positioned.

-

Raise subframe and guide steering box pinion through opening in underside of vehicle.

-

Attach subframe provisionally with old bolts and tighten bolts.

Notes:  Replace the old subframe bolts when checking wheel alignment.

-

Bolt expansion hose (with new sealing rings) to rotary slide valve housing.

-

Bolt on pendulum support and exhaust system mounting bracket.

-

Insert track rod ball joints in steering arms and tighten nuts. If track rod joint turns as well when tightening, counter hold with a Torx key (T 40).

-

Attach return pipe to fluid reservoir.

-

Remove clamp from suction hose.

-

Fit noise insulation.

-

Fit universal joint on steering box pinion and secure using new bolt - 1 - (30 Nm/22 ft. lbs.).

-

Install cover.

-

Fill up system with hydraulic fluid.
