This could attack the rubber, or possibly cause the whole mounting to rotate in the control arm as the suspension moves, rather than a twisting
movement of the rubber in the mounting.

Position control arm on flat surface.

First press in mounting until it makes contact.

Then press in mounting further until bottom rubber collar is completely visible (arrow).

A - Part No. (e.g: 1 JO 407 181).
B - Align kidney - shaped aperture centrally with lug (right arrow); faces toward center of vehicle
C - Machined surface; press in mounting so it is flush with this surface.
