Shift Cable: Service and Repair

Selector cables, removing, installing and assembly overview

Notes:  Lubricate all bearings and moving surfaces with Polyurea grease Part No. G 052 142 A2.

1. Selector Bowden control

On gate selector bracket

2. Shift Bowden control 
3. Circlip 
4. Gear shift housing 
5. Circlip

Do not damage cable when removing

6. Support bracket
7. Bushing

Support bracket mounting to transmission

8. Distance piece
9. Hexagon bolt, 25 Nm

For support bracket

10. Cable locking mechanism
11. Relay lever

Installation position, Refer to Fig. 1

12. Bushing
13. Retaining washer

15. Transmission selector lever
16. Hexagon nut, 25 Nm
17. Cable locking mechanism

For selector bowden cable to shift lever

Replace item 15 after prying off from transmission shift lever.
