Coolant Line/Hose: Service and Repair

Coolant pipe, removing and installing 

Removing 

Note:

Collect drained coolant in a clean container for re-use or disposal.

-

Remove thermostat housing.

-

Remove bracket for ancillary units.

-

Unclip bracket for wiring on right from coolant pipe.

-

Remove wiring harness from retainer on left.

-

Pull off coolant hose to oil cooler.

-

Pull coolant pipe out of cylinder block.

Installing 

Note:

Always replace seals and gaskets.

-

Before installing, clean and smoothen sealing surfaces for O-ring.

-

Lubricate new O-ring -1- with "G12+" and push onto coolant pipe -2-.

-

Slide coolant pipe into bore in cylinder block.

-

Install bracket for ancillary units.

-

Install thermostat housing.

-

Fill cooling system.
