Disconnect connector - 1 -.

Release locking hooks - arrows - and pull return spring with slip ring off steering column switch.

Note:

Wheels must be in straight-ahead position when removing or installing return ring with slip ring.

When supplied as a new part, the return spring with slip ring is secured in the center position with a cable tie or shear-off ring.

^

On vehicles which have an ESP sensor in the return spring with slip ring, perform zero compensation of senor.

Note:

After connecting battery, check vehicle equipment (radio, clock, electric windows).

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) - K75 - indicates a malfunction after completing assembly, erase DTC memory and check memory
again using scan tool V.A.G 1551.
