Disconnect connector - 1 -.

Loosen bolt - 2 - on clamp until steering column switch can be removed.

Disconnect turn signal and windshield wiper connectors, and set steering column switch aside.
The illustration shows the return spring for a vehicle without Electronic Stabilization Program ESP
CAUTION! Coil connector remains on steering column switch. Make sure that coil connector is not twisted out of center position when
setting down steering column switch.

Remove plastic nuts - 1 - and cover - A -.
Securing steering column before removing
A temporary fastener is required to stop the upper and lower parts of the steering column from pulling apart when they are detached from the steering
gear.
If the upper and lower parts of the steering column are pulled too far apart or are pushed inside each other the splines will separate.
Rattling noises can occur when the vehicle is driven if the splines are not in their original installation position.

Compress or extend steering column until the hole becomes visible.
