Engine Oil Pressure: Testing and Inspection
Oil Pressure and Oil Pressure Switch, Checking
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› Oil Pressure Gauge (V.A.G 1342)
‹› Adapter (V.A.G 1342/14)
‹› Voltage Tester (V.A.G 1527B)
‹› Connector Test Set (V.A.G 1594C)
Procedure
‹› Oil level OK
‹› Engine oil temperature approximately 80 °C / 176 °F
‹› "OK" display must light up in Driver Information Display (DIS).

Remove oil pressure switch. Refer to => [ Oil Pressure Switch ] See: Oil Pressure Sender/Service and Repair.

Connect (V.A.G 1342) with (V.A.G 1342/14 ) to oil pressure switch hole.

Install the oil pressure switch in the (V.A.G 1342 ).

Install oil dipstick guide tube and insert dipstick.

Install A/C compressor.

Install ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Ribbed Belt.
Oil Pressure Switch, Checking

Connect the oil pressure gauge brown wire to Ground (GND).

Connect (V.A.G 1527B) using adapter cables from (V.A.G 1594C) to oil pressure switch and battery positive.
‹› LED must not light up.

If the LED lights up with the engine at standstill, replace oil pressure switch.

Start engine.
