Remove nuts - arrows - (from above).

Remove selector mechanism downward together with selector lever cable.

‹› Selector lever cable must not be bent or kinked.

‹› Selector mechanism can also be removed without selector lever cable by disconnecting cable from selector mechanism function unit. Refer to => [

Selector Lever Cable ] See: Shift Linkage/Shift Cable/Service and Repair.

Installing

‹› Tightening Specifications, refer to => [ Selector Mechanism Assembly Overview ] See: Selector Mechanism Assembly Overview. 

Install in reverse order, noting the following:

‹› Replace selector lever cable securing plate and lock washer.

‹› Selector lever cable must not be bent or kinked.

Install heat shield. 

-

Install the driveshaft.

Reconnect exhaust system.

-

Install ashtray. 

-

Install center console trim.

Install selector lever handle. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Handle with Side Locking Button ] See: Selector Lever Handle with Side Locking
Button.

Adjust selector lever cable. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] See: Shift Linkage/Shift Cable/Adjustments.

Check selector mechanism and ignition key withdrawal lock. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism and Ignition Key Removal Lock, Checking ] See:

Install the noise insulation.
