Press engine and transmission forward and secure position with a suitable wood block - A -.

Carefully remove front driveshaft tube from centering pins on bevel box.
‹› Sealing ring - arrow - in driveshaft flange must not be damaged.
‹› Detach driveshaft horizontally from guide pin.

Support the rear section of the driveshaft with the Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A).
