Input Shaft Seal, Replacing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Extractor lever (T20143/1)

‹› Thrust piece (T40008)

‹› Sealing grease (G 052 128 A1)

Remove slave cylinder with release bearing => [ Slave Cylinder with Release Bearing ] See: Clutch/Clutch Hydraulic System/Clutch Slave
Cylinder/Service and Repair.

Pry out input shaft seal using extractor lever ( T20143/1).

‹› Do not damage seal running surface on input shaft.

-

Fill space between sealing lip and dust lip - arrow - halfway with sealing grease (G 052 128 A1).

-

Lightly coat outer circumference of seal with gear oil.

-

Drive in seal using thrust piece (T40008) until it is flush.
