Selector Mechanism Seal, Transmission Side, Replacing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Tube (VW 423)

‹› Extractor lever (T20143/1)

‹› Sealing grease (G 052 128 A1)

Remove entire air filter housing => Fuel Injection

and Ignition 24 Removal and Installation.

-

Remove securing clip - 2 - and press relay lever -  3 - to side and out of mounting.

‹› If the relay lever cannot be removed due to transmission plate, remove selector cable from relay lever. Guide shoe out of transmission shift lever.

Remove nut - 4 - and remove transmission shift lever -  1 -.

-

Pry out seal using pulling hook (T20143/1).

-

Lightly oil new sealing ring on outer circumference.
