Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair
Power steering pump, removing and installing
Power steering pump in lower position, assembly overview
1 - Hex bolt
-
Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
2 - Tensioning element for ribbed belt
-
Turn with open - end spanner to slacken ribbed belt.
3 - Vibration damper
-
With pulley for ribbed belt
-
Can only be installed in one position
4 - Hex bolt
-
Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
5 - Generator
-
Removing and installing, refer to Starting and Charging.
6 - Hex bolt
-
Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
7 - Bracket
-
Illustration shows version for vehicles without air conditioner
8 - Hex socket head bolt
-
Tighten to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.)
9 - Hex bolt
-
Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)
10 - Banjo bolt
-
Tighten to 38 Nm (28 ft. lbs.)

On vehicles with pressure switch
11 - Sealing ring
-
Always replace
12 - Pressure pipe
13 - Sealing ring

14 - Power steering pump

Checking delivery pressure go to Testing and Inspection

Fill with fluid before installing

To facilitate positioning of power steering pump on bracket, knock back threaded bushes for retaining bolts slightly

16 - Hex socket head bolt
