Remove front heat shield (arrows).

-

Unbolt front exhaust pipe from exhaust manifolds (arrows).

-

Remove front exhaust pipe.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order. Note the following:

NOTE:  Replace gaskets and self-locking nuts.

Install front section of driveshaft.

-

Install body brace.

-

Align exhaust system free of stress.

Tightening torques

Components

Nm

Front exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold

40 Nm 1) 

Catalytic converter to front exhaust pipe

23 Nm 1)

Oxygen sensor in front exhaust pipe

55 Nm

Pendulum support to subframe

20 Nm + 90 degrees 1) 2)

1) Replace nuts and bolts
2) 90 degrees equals one quarter turn
