Gear oil, changing or filling after repairs, 02E, 6 Speed Direct Shift A/T, AWD
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Drip tray V.A.G 1306
^
Adapter VAS 6262
^
Safety goggles
^
Protective gloves (acid resistant)
^
An approx. 1 meter long transparent hose (commercially available) which can be attached to adapter VAS 6262 and to a suitable funnel.
Requirements
^
Vehicle must be level (horizontal).
^
Selector lever at position "P"
^
Engine not running.
^
The gear oil filter must always be replaced when changing gear oil Gear oil filter, removing and installing.
CAUTION!
^
Only the gear oil for the direct shift transmissions (available as a replacement part) may be used for the direct shift transmission 02E.
Other oils cause faults and/or failure of the transmission.
^
The engine must not be started and vehicle must not be towed without gear oil in transmission.

Note regulations for the disposal of oil.
CAUTION! When working close to the radiator always maintain a safe distance from the fan - danger of injury! The fan may switch on
automatically.
Draining off gear oil and changing gear oil filter

Change gear oil filter Gear oil filter, removing and installing

Drive vehicle onto a four-column lifting platform or over an inspection pit in order for it to be absolutely horizontal.

Remove center sound insulation -fasteners - 1... 3 -.
-
Place drip tray V.A.G1306 under transmission.
