Place drip tray V.A.G 1306 under transmission.
CAUTION! Wear safety goggles.

Remove drain plug - A - and allow gear oil to drain off.

If installed, remove protective plate at bottom of transmission - arrows -.

Turn bayonet catch - 1 - of 20-pin connector to release and separate it from transmission.

Touch a vehicle ground by hand (without gloves) to discharge any static electricity.
CAUTION! Only touch or remove the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic -J743- after having discharged any static electricity by
touching a vehicle ground by hand.
Never allow hands to contact the transmission connector, as static discharge would damage the control module and mechatronic.
