VAG1383A Transmission jack

Removing 

-

Pull off trim cap for light alloy wheels (use puller in vehicle tool kit).

-

Lift vehicle until the load on the front axle is relieved.

-

Loosen 12 - point nut.

-

Remove wheels.

-

Detach coupling links from suspension struts on both sides of vehicle. 

-

Pull spring clip out of retainer and detach brake hose. 

-

Release speed sensor wiring from suspension strut.

-

Unbolt brake caliper from wheel bearing housing.

-

Secure brake caliper to body with wire.

-

Remove brake disc (brake disc is secured to hub with a Phillips - head bolt).

-

Remove brake disc splash plate.

-

Remove upper nut on ball joint.

Notes:  To protect ball joint threads, leave nut on a few turns.
