The open side of the bearing cage faces toward the gear stick housing 

21. Damper

Lift tab in direction of arrow.

Fig. 2 Installing spring

Insert spring so that arm - A - is under the stud (arrow).

Pull arm - B - up toward the gear stick and leave it resting on top of the stud (arrow).
