Crankshaft Gear/Sprocket: Service and Repair
Chain Sprocket
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Press tube 30 - 100

Thrust piece 40 - 105
^
Two-arm puller, commercially available
^
Protective gloves
Removing
^
Remove oil pan with oil pump
^
Remove front sealing flange
^
Pull off crankshaft chain sprocket with claw puller - 2 - e.g. Kukko 44-1, while protecting end of crankshaft with special tool 40-105.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:
CAUTION!
Wear protective gloves!

Heat up chain sprocket in an oven for approx. 15 minutes at 220 degree C.
Note:

Installed location: Wider shoulder of chain sprocket faces toward engine.

Using pliers, install chain sprocket on crankshaft end and slide onto crankshaft to stop using press tube 30 - 100.

Install oil pan with oil pump.
