Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair

Rear Sealing Flange and Dual-Mass Flywheel Assembly Overview

Servicing clutch

1 - Bolt

^

For dual-mass flywheel/drive plate

^

60 plus an additional 90 degree (1/4 turn)

^

Replace

2 - Dual mass flywheel

^

Only possible to install in one position. Bores are offset.

3 - Intermediate plate

^

Must be located on dowel sleeves

^

Do not damage or bend when doing assembly work

4 - Bolt

^

Tightening order

5 - Sealing flange with rear oil seal

^

Only replaced as complete unit

^

To install, use provided guide sleeve

^

Do not oil or grease sealing lip of oil seal

^

Before installing, remove oil remains from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth

^

Guide sleeve may only be removed after sealing flange has been slid onto crankshaft pin.
