Timing Chain: Service and Repair
Chain Sprocket
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› Press tube (30 - 100)
‹› Thrust piece (40 - 105)
‹› Two-arm puller, commercially available
‹› Protective gloves
Removing

Remove oil pan with oil pump => [ Oil Pan ] See: Engine Lubrication/Oil Pan/Service and Repair/Oil Pan.

Remove front sealing flange => [ Front Sealing Flange ] See: Cylinder Block Assembly/Front Engine Plate/Service and Repair/Front Sealing
Flange.

Pull off crankshaft chain sprocket with claw puller - 2 - e.g. Kukko 44-1, while protecting end of crankshaft with special tool 40-105.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:
CAUTION!
Wear protective gloves!

Heat up chain sprocket in an oven for approx. 15 minutes at 220°C.
‹› Installed location: Wider shoulder of chain sprocket faces toward engine.

Using pliers, install chain sprocket on crankshaft end and slide onto crankshaft to stop using press tube (30 - 100).
