Discharge Air Temperature Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair
Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor G261 , Removing and Installing
Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor G261, Removing And Installing
NOTE: On vehicles with heating (without A/C system), there is no Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor G261 installed (depending on version,
mounting opening in air guide channel is not present or is sealed with sealing plugs).

Remove drivers side storage compartment.

Remove left footwell vent - A - (drivers side).

Reach through opening between left side of A/C unit and central tube (instrument panel cross member) or support on left side of A/C unit and
rotate sensor - B - into position in which connector - A - can be disconnected.

Disconnect connector - A - (e.g. using needle-nose pliers)

Turn sensor - B - 90 degrees and pull it out of A/C unit.

Check seal - C - for proper seating when installing.
NOTE:

If sensor - B - cannot be rotated or sensor - B - is not accessible because of other components, remove this component

This illustration depicts sensor - B - with instrument panel removed. With instrument panel installed, sensor - B - is visible from below when
footwell vent has been removed (part of sensor with temperature sensor is visible in air guide channel).
