Removing
-
Position steering wheel so that it is as far rearward and down as possible, using full adjustment range of steering column adjuster.

Adjust front seat all the way back and place backrest in 45° position.
Vehicles with direct shift automatic transmission (DSG):

Shift selector lever into "S" position.

‹› Note assignment of airbag unit to instrument panel.

Switch off ignition.

Disconnect battery ground wire.

Remove airbag unit.

Remove steering wheel.

Remove driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to => [ Driver Side Instrument Panel Cover ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding /
Trim/Utility Storage Compartment/Service and Repair.

Remove Left Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sensor (G385) from air channel.
‹› Left Vent Temperature Sensor (G150) electrical connector must not be disconnected.

Remove instrument cluster. See: Instrument Cluster / Carrier

If equipped, remove Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module (J502).

Remove radio or navigation system. See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Navigation System

Remove glove compartment. Refer to => [ Glove Compartment ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Utility Storage
