Fuel Injector, checking
The following test procedure is used to diagnose Fuel Injectors (N30, N31, N32, N33).
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› Multimeter.
‹› Diode test lamp (12V).
‹› Wiring diagram.
Test requirements
‹› The Engine Control Module (ECM) (J623) fuses OK.
‹› The Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor (G28) OK, checking => [ checking ] See: Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Component
Tests and General Diagnostics/Engine Speed (RPM) Sensor (G28), checking.
‹› Battery voltage at least 12.5 volts.
‹› All electrical consumers such as, lights and rear window defroster, switched off.
‹› Vehicles with automatic transmission, shift selector lever into position " P" or "N".
‹› A/C switched off.
‹› Ground (GND) connections between engine/transmission/chassis OK.
‹› Ignition switched off.

Observe safety precautions.

Observe rules for cleanliness.
Test procedure

Perform a preliminary check to verify the customers complaint. Refer to => [ replacing ] See: Computers and Control Systems/Engine Control
Module/Testing and Inspection/Engine Control Module (ECM) (J623).
Start diagnosis

Remove the engine cover with air filter.

Disconnect the Fuel Injector electrical harness connectors from Fuel Injectors.
Checking internal resistance
-
Using a multimeter, check the Fuel Injector electrical terminals 1 to 2 for resistance.
