Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable: Service and Repair
Airbag Spiral Spring/Return Spring with Slip Ring
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
‹› Feeler gauge
Removing
‹› Steering must be in center position (wheels in straight ahead position) when removing and installing coil connector with slip ring.

Remove steering column trim.

Remove Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527)=> [ Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module ] See: Relays and
Modules/Relays and Modules - Steering and Suspension/Relays and Modules - Steering/Steering Column Control Module/Service and
Repair/Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module.

Carefully release fasteners - arrows - and pull Airbag Spiral Spring/Return Spring With Slip Ring - 1 - off steering column switch module.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

Make sure all fasteners and electrical connectors are properly engaged.
