Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

EVAP Canister

Removing

‹› Checking for leaks. Refer to => [ Leak Detection Test, Performing ] See: Leak Detection Pump/Testing and Inspection/Leak Detection Test,

Performing. 

-

Remove rear part of exhaust system. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System

-

Remove the rear muffler heat shield. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System

-

Disconnect vent lines and connecting lines - 3 -, -  4 - and - 5 - by pressing the release button.

-

Remove bolts - 1 -, - 2 - and -  6 -.

-

Release the retaining tabs in direction of - arrow - with a screwdriver and remove the EVAP canister.

Installing

‹› Tightening specifications. Refer to => [ EVAP Canister and Leak Detection System Assembly Overview ] See: Service and Repair. 

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

Press on vent and connecting lines until they engage audibly.

Install the rear muffler heat shield. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System

Install exhaust system. See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System
