Wastegate Actuator: Testing and Inspection

Exhaust Turbocharger Vacuum Diaphragm, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hand vacuum pump (VAS 6213)

Test conditions:

‹› Hose from exhaust turbocharger over Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve (N75) must have continuity to vacuum diaphragm.

‹› Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve (N75) OK. 

Work procedure:

Disconnect electrical connector on Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor (G70) - 3 -.

-

Open clips - 1 and 2 - and remove air guide hose from mass air flow sensor.

Remove front air intake connector on lock carrier - 4 -

-

Remove engine cover.

-

Connect Hand Vacuum Pump (VAS 6213) to vacuum diaphragm - arrow -.
