Affected Vehicles
Condition
The Bluetooth(R) telephone cannot be connected to the vehicles Telephone Transceiver R36.
Technical Background
Starting in model year 2007 vehicles, the pin-requiring initial Bluetooth phone connection to the Telephone Transceiver R36 can only be made when the
vehicle is stationary and within five minutes of turning on the ignition.
This condition was introduced due to safety requirements.

Not applicable.
Service
1. Verify that the customer's cell phone is on the Bluetooth compatibility list.
2. If the initial connection still fails, verify in 77 - Telephone Transceiver that Adaptation channel 133 is on 1 (Bluetooth enabled) and channel 134 is on
0 (if cradle is not installed).
For MMI MOST equipped vehicles: Verify also in 07- Display/control unit that adaption channel 12 is on 2.
3. If all values are set correctly, explain the new condition to the customer.
