Instrument Panel

Removing

-

Position steering wheel so that it is as far rearward and down as possible, using full adjustment range of steering column adjuster.

-

Adjust front seat all the way back and place backrest in 45° position.

Vehicles with direct shift automatic transmission (DSG): 

-

Shift selector lever into "S" position.

CAUTION!
‹› Observe safety precautions for work on airbags. Refer to => [ Airbag System General Safety Precautions ] See: Restraint Systems/Air

Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service Precautions.

‹› Note assignment of airbag unit to instrument panel.

Switch off ignition.

-

Disconnect battery ground wire. 

-

Remove airbag unit.

-

Remove steering wheel.

-

Remove driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to => [ Driver Side Instrument Panel Cover ] See: Utility Storage Compartment/Service and
Repair.

-

Remove Left Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sensor (G385) from air channel.

‹› Left Vent Temperature Sensor (G150) electrical connector must not be disconnected.

-

Remove instrument cluster. See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Instrument Cluster / Carrier

-

If equipped, remove Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module (J502).

-

Remove radio or navigation system. See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Navigation System

-

Remove glove compartment. Refer to => [ Glove Compartment ] See: Utility Storage Compartment/Service and Repair.

Remove the bolts - 2 -.
