Coolant Pump

Coolant Pump

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Workshop Crane Drip Tray (VAS 6208)

Removing

-

Remove the toothed belt. Refer to => [ Toothed Belt ] See: Timing Components/Timing Belt/Service and Repair/Toothed Belt.

Place drip tray (VAS 6208) under engine. 

-

Remove bolts - 1 - and coolant pump - 2 - with O-ring - 3 -.

Installing

‹› For tightening specifications, refer to => [ Coolant Pump and Thermostat with Housing Assembly Overview ] See: Coolant Pump and Thermostat

with Housing Assembly Overview.

Installation is in reverse order of removal, noting the following: 

‹› Replace O-ring.

Clean and smooth O-ring sealing surface.

-

Coat O-ring - 3 - with coolant additive.

-

Insert coolant pump - 2 -.

‹› Installation position: The sealing plugs in the housing face downward.

Install toothed belt and adjust timing. Refer to => [ Installing and Adjusting Valve Timing ] See: Timing Components/Timing Belt/Service and
Repair/Toothed Belt.

Fill with coolant. Refer to => [ Filling ] See: Cooling System/Service and Repair/Procedures.
