Removing

CAUTION!
Risk of transmission damage.

‹› Do not run engine or tow vehicle with oil pan removed or without transmission fluid.

‹› Observe cleanliness rules when working on transmissions. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] See: Service Precautions/02EA

Drain gear oil. Refer to => [ Gear Oil, Draining, or Filling after Repairs ] See: Fluid - A/T/Service and Repair/Gear Oil, Draining, or Filling after
Repairs and leave oil collecting and extracting device (VAG 1782) below.

Remove left noise insulation - arrows -.

Remove bolts - arrow - and remove transmission oil pump cover - A - while letting gear oil remain in cover to drain into oil collecting and
extracting device (VAG 1782 ).
