Throttle Cable/Linkage: Adjustments

1.

Remove upper and lower air cleaner housings.

Remove mounting plate for ignition cables (fig. 1).

3.

Insert a 0.6" (15mm) spacer between accelerator pedal and stop screw, and secure in place with tape (spacer 'a', fig. 2).

4.

Depress accelerator pedal all the way to the stop with spacer installed, and hold.

5.

Pull back throttle cable housing until lever of cruise control just makes contact with full throttle stop (fig. 3).

6.

Insert retaining clip in the appropriate slot to secure throttle cable housing in this position.

7.

Remove spacer from beneath accelerator pedal.
