Transmission Position Switch/Sensor: Adjustments

Multi-function switch adjusting

Note:

Remove adjusting pin first from new multi-function switch

Position selector lever in the Park position.

Selector Linkage

Using a screwdriver, remove socket of selector lever cable on transmission.

Position gear lever (ball head) on transmission to Neutral as follows:

Push ball head forward until ball head stops in the Park position.

Push ball head to the Neutral position.

Using a 2.75-3.14 inch Allen wrench, a 5mm socket (1/4 inch drive), universal joint, 51 and 152 mm (2.0 and 6.0 in.) extensions loosen bolts
on multi-function switch until the switch can be rotated easily in the elongated slots.

Using a 1.6 inch Allen wrench, loosen bolt on multi-function switch until switch can rotate freely.
