1 Series E81 118i (N46T) 3-door
Coat piston and piston rings with oil.
Offset the contact points of the piston rings by approx. 120
°
to
each other but do not position above the piston pin boss.
Push special tool 11 8 141 over piston (1).
Slide piston (1) with conrod into special tool 11 8 141 .
Important!
Danger of piston ring failure.
Press in piston only with finger force (do not knock in!).
Install pistons (1) so that arrow points to camshaft drive.
Position piston (1) with special tool 11 8 141 on cylinder.
Press in piston (1).
Attach crankpin to connecting rod.
Remove special tool 11 8 330 (matching M8 E10 A/F conrod
bolts only).
Note:
For purposes of clarity, the pairing letters (1) are shown on the
removed conrod.
Important!
Conrod and bearing cap are identified with pairing letters (1)
and must not be mixed up.
