Release bolts (1) and nuts (2), remove retaining plate (3).
Tightening torque 23 00 1AZ
.
Important!
Observe the correct bolt lengths.
The bolts have different lengths.
Failure to comply may result in damage to the engine oil
sump.
Release bolt (1).
Turn primary catalytic converter (2) to one side.
Detach plug (1) from reversing light switch.
Release cable from retainers.

Remove propeller shaft from transmission.

Release centre bearing.

Tie propeller shaft to one side.
Tasks are described in Removing propeller shaft.
Note:
When removing and installing the transmission, support the front
end of the engine at the housing with an installation aid
(e.g. transmission lifter).
