Passive safety of the body
The body is made of fully galvanised steel. The E87 has a safety occupant cell.
High-strength steels have been used at many points on the front end, on the B-pillar and at the rear. The
stringent demands of crash characteristics are thus satisfied. The E87 has the bast possible preconditions for
achieving 5 stars in EuroNCAP.
EuroNCAP stands for "European New Car Assessment Programme". EuroNCAP is a body founded in 1997 for
classifying the vehicle safety of new vehicles. 5 stars is the best classification.

Active safety
Active safety comprises all functions for the avoidance of accidents:

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) (standard)

Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) supports emergency braking

2-stage brake lights: When the brakes are applied more heavily, the brake lights light up brighter. This
sends a clear message to following traffic: Danger!

Repair friendliness
The front and rear bumper trims are of a 2-part design. This reduces cost in case a repair is needed.
A central connector on the exterior mirrors eases removal and fitting.
The side windows are secured to the power window mechanism by clips.
But repair friendliness also means that repairs are not needed in the first place:
The exhaust system is made completely of non-rusting stainless steel.

The interior is generously dimensioned and versatile:
