Note:
Bearing shells are marked with yellow, green or red paint.
Observe grinding stage of main bearing journals.
Check guide sleeves (1) for damage and correct seating.
Install crankshaft (2).
Installation:
Checking crankshaft main bearing clearance:
Place special tool 00 2 590 (Plastigage type PG1) on oil-free
crankshaft.
Do not twist crankshaft.
Installation:
To check main bearing clearance, use used screws.
There must be no oil in the blind holes (risk of cracking).
Note:
Wash and oil screws.
Insert screws (2).
