1 Series 120i (N43) Convertible
Pretension clamping rail by turning adjusting screw with special
tool 00 9 250 or commercially available torque wrench to
0.6 Nm .
Important!
Secure central bolts with special tool 11 8 690 only.
Tighten central bolt (1) of exhaust adjustment unit.
Tightening torque 11 36 1AZ.
Tighten down central bolt (2) of inlet adjustment unit.
Tightening torque 11 36 1AZ.
Remove all special tools.
Crank engine at central bolt twice in direction of rotation until
engine returns to firing TDC position of cylinder no. 1.
Resecure flywheel.
The timing is correctly adjusted when special tool 11 8 691
rests without a gap on the cylinder head.
Permissible tolerances on inlet side 0.5 mm, on exhaust
side 1.0 mm.
Assemble engine.
